Friday 26th April: Hyperlink Festival at TATE Modern Tanks with Mandem On The Wall

Today marks the beginning of the Hyperlink free festival at TATE Modern, set up specifically for the gallery's young audience to encounter creative industries first hand.  The three day festival will have live performances by rapper SwayAkalaAngelLady Leshurr and an acoustic set by Sebastian Blake plus spoken word from George the Poet.   There is also an itinerary of workshops from fashion photography with Rankin to zine-making with It’s Nice That, fashion design with Cassette Playa, to Aberrant architecture.
To promote the scheme to the 15-25 year old audience, the TATE commissioned  YouTube sensations Mandem On The Wall  who met at the Brit School for Performing Arts and currently have a cameo feature in new E4 show 'Youngers'From their wall in South East London,  they relocate to Tate Modern in this special episode within the London landmark's Turbine Hall and galleries of the former Bankside Power Station.  Alongside Margot Bowman and Aaron Frew, I make a little cameo appearance in the story too which was a great fun morning shooting and certainly not my average Modern Art gallery experience!!

Check out the HYPERLINK site here for the full listings of events & workshops.

Friday 26th April: Andrew Logan Studio sale with Piers Atkinson

On our 2nd sunny Spring evening I headed down to Bermondsey to see the rays reflect off the mirror mosaic mural sculptures and surfaces of Andrew Logan's glasshouse at his studio sale.  Here he is with his Saturn style DVD player which is one of my favourite details of his interior design - totally cosmic!  Piers Atkinson was also at the event with his one-off samples which Kim dived into and found the perfect pale blue pom pom ......... and I tried on a glitter beetle baseball cap for my red outfit.  Saving up the pennies to purchase a piece of Logan jewellery to decorate my arm like these cuffs Gity Monsef has styled with multicolour perspex bangles - LUSH!!
Head over to Andrew's online shop to find your own slice of the spectrum.

Thurs 25th April: Everyman Cinema at Kings Cross Filling Station with Fashion East

Well hello Mr. Bluesky!  At last London has acknowledged that Spring has arrived, and treated us to some overdue sunshine.  And what better way to soak up the rays than an evening hanging by the canal at the 60's Californian theme Kings Cross Filling station to fuel up on American hot dogs and Napa Valley MUMM fizz.  Everyman Cinema have just taken over the forecourt with a pop-up open-air screen showing a season of iconic road movies via a silent disco headphones set up.  Fashion East chose the pitt stop to host a party to celebrate the season and invite their extended network to sample the new menu at the adjacent Shrimpy's restaurant.  After an al fresco viewing of Matt Dillon in "Drugstore Cowboy" with boxes of chocolate raisin popcorn, we sat down to a spicy three course feast with Hibiscus Martinis.  It was one of those gorgeous rare warm city evenings and rare chances to catch up with everyone in one room at one time - especially to find out news such as Agi & Sam's impending capsule collection with Top Shop.......... another great Fashion East success story to toast to!

To look up the Road Movie selection, check out the special KXFS Everyman schedule here (24th April - 5th May) and read up on the Shrimpy's menu here.
